Jetsun Tāranātha’s Collected Works – Introduction

Jetsun Tāranātha (1575-1634)

This website is about the Collected Works of the Jonang and Shangpa Kagyu master, Jetsun Tāranātha. His Collected Works is one of the biggest and influential in the Tibetan Buddhist canon from a single author, with 23 Volumes of around 370 texts (in the Dzamthang edition). The translation of this outline of the Collected Works will hopefully give people an introduction to the scope, depth and breadth of Tāranātha’s compositions, knowledge and practice, as well as his extremely significant status within Tibetan Buddhism.

The website has been created as a free resource for all those interested in finding about more about not only Jetsun Tāranātha. himself, but about the texts he wrote. The Collected Works section contains an outline in Tibetan and English of the Collected Works. There are currently no plans to translate the actual texts in the Collected Works though (although a few have already been translated independently). It is a work in progress and will be updated with new research, translations and links as and when they arise.

See the website section on the currently available editions of the Collected Works, here.
